Wednesday morning - the morning of the show - we woke up still not knowing if the show was actually going to happen. After talking with Philip, we moved forward as if it WAS going to happen - they had seen some movement that morning (it turns out a high ranking official in the Irish government was a Christian and had some family members who had purchased tickets to come to the concert that night, so he started pushing things through quickly) and while there was still no guarantee that everything would come through in time, things were looking a lot better than they were the day before. We were picked up by the bus to take us to the venue around 2pm.
The Odyssey Arena in Belfast is the premier arena venue in all of Northern Ireland. And the funny thing is, the first time we were in Northern Ireland with Philip we drove past the arena on our way to Ballymena and he joked, "One day I'm going to have you guys play in there!" We all had a great laugh... and just a couple of years later, there we were.
The rest of the afternoon/evening went relatively smoothly with one minor hiccup: somehow we managed to lose a suitcase that had all of our t-shirts, some CDs, our credit card machine, and other paraphernalia in it. We still don't know where it is, but in the big picture, this was a pretty minor event.
After the show we had a great time signing CDs and hanging out with those who came to the show. What a fantastic bunch of people - we are already talking with atiG Events about our next trip to Northern Ireland. Thanks to all who came out - we will be back!
I'm from Ballymena!

Well, that's definitely one way to look at it... :) It could make quite a splash when all the homeless guys in Belfast are walking around in the same t-shirts!

Yeah, I guess that IS the advantage of losing "promotional" materials! :-) It's always promoting wherever it is!

I guess the only hope for the suitcase now (aside from a miraculous return) is that lots of people could be walking around wearing dh shirts and sticking antibologna stickers on stuff. All publicity is good publicity?
Positively thinking, I always am.
