"Man Crush"... I believe I've used the term before in a blog post (yup, I did - click here to read it). That particular post was in reference to Jack Bauer. Well, it's the summer and Jack is hiding out getting some much needed rest to prepare for the upcoming season. Taking his place this summer: Jason Bourne.
Erin and I went to see The Bourne Ultimatum last night, and it was great! If you are a fan of the series (I've read all the books) it's definitely a must see. This Los Angeles Times review summed it up quite nicely... Have you seen it? What did you think?
It's definitely worth the show, Cheri - you'll have to let me know what you thought once you see it. I read the book, too, but it's been a while and I don't honestly remember how it went. But you're right - I think the fact that they're really not trying to stick too closely to the books actually makes the movies and the series itself better.

Hi Jeremy,
Your blogs are always so interesting, I love reading them. I think the term Man-Crush is hilarious! I love the Bourne series and what I find interesting is that the movies are so different from the books. Usually the books are always better, but in this case you can hardly compare them because they are so different. If anything, I have almost enjoyed the movies better in this case! I haven't seen the Bourne Ultimatum yet, but I plan to soon.

Great comments, Mark(s)! Amy, it's funny you should mention that. Erin and I were talking about whether I should have had her watch the first two before we watched this one, but honestly, you would be fine watching this one without ever having seen the other ones (as long as you're with someone who had). This was much different from Pirates III where they relied HEAVILY on the last episode and if you hadn't had a refresher in a while you were left wandering through the whole movie... Looking forward to hearing what you thought!

David watched the first two movies with me this week (in preparation for the third). I had never watched any of them. We're planning to go see the third next weekend with some family! Glad to hear it's getting good reviews!

Managed to travel into Huntsville on Saturday past while I was camping in Muskoka for the weekend, just so I could see this movie, and I was not disappointed!
There were a few unanswered questions that came to mind afterward, but that was my only complaint, and minor at that. An excellent trilogy for anyone's collection. I haven't read the books either, but I'd certainly be interested in doing so.

I think slow and steady only wins the race if there is a finish line. With all the interesting looking books being published on a monthly basis, I think this is a battle that will never end.
I, for one, am very glad of that fact.

That's a great idea, Kat! Date night - definitely a good idea... even for those without kids!
Mark, I completely understand the "To Read" stack - I don't even look at mine these days for fear of being discouraged. Does "slow and steady" still win the race these days??

I haven't read the books and I didn't care for the first two movies. But I went to see this one with my roommates and we all enjoyed it. In fact, it made me want to read the books.
Now to find a place for them in Mountain Range To Be Read.

My husband and I have both really enjoyed this series and really want to see this movie. We just started a "date night" babysitting swap with some friends, so I'm hoping that we'll get to go see it at the theater instead of having to wait for dvd.
