I'm in Oshkosh, WI today and things are not what they seem. For starters, it's almost 90 degrees out - in October. Isn't it supposed to be fall right now? College football is pretty crazy too, today - another upset with Illinois over Wisconsin; and Tennessee is up 28-0 at the half against UGA. So, in the spirit of weird things this weekend, I thought I would bring this story to your attention:
"A Czech couple who decided to take a DNA test to squash persistent pub gossip and prove that their 10-month-old baby was their own got a nasty surprise.
The couple, from the southeastern town of Trebic, had some doubts about the child as her hair was blonde and they both had dark hair. Fellow drinkers' suspicions got on their nerves.
But the test showed neither of the parents had the same DNA as the baby, Czech news agency CTK reported Wednesday, suggesting a mix-up at the hospital.
Authorities were looking into the case."
Watch the video here.
I would probably agree, Melanie - I think that couple was better off not knowing. NOW what do they do?!?

Wow.. that is scary and tragic. :(
Although, blond is recessive, so it's kind of surprising that no one seemed to know this. Two blondes with a dark-haired child would have been more suspicious. LOL Sometimes you wonder in cases like this if it would have been better for no one to be the wiser. Wow.

So then what do you do when you find the real baby? Switch the babies back to the correct parents, or keep and raise the baby you've grown to love for 10 months? YIKES... Maybe that's a good reason to take photos of the baby IMMEDIATELY after birth!!

That is one of those stranger-than-fiction stories! Poor family!
I think the weather here (N. Cali)is SUPERweird. It's fall in the morning and night so we turn on the heat, but it's summer in the afternoons so we have to wear shorts!

Wow!
that is indeed an intense story.
I can't even imagine finding out that your daughter, that you adore, is actually not even related to you!
& what the heck is going on with this summer weather?!
it's already October!
[Actually i'm pretty pumped about the warm weather because i'm NOT a fan of winter!]
thanks for saying hello on the phone the other night.
seee you next month.
